In a strategic move to promote education and career advancement, the Badagry Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) recently embarked on an advocacy campaign at the Badagry General Hospital, located in Lagos State. The purpose of this visit was to engage with the hospital's staff and management, advocating for the numerous benefits of enrolling in NOUN.

Led by the esteemed Dr. Julius Eyanuku, Director of the Badagry Study Centre, the NOUN advocacy team received a warm welcome from Mr. Sanusi Taiwo, Assistant Chief Hospital Administrator. During their meeting, Mr. Taiwo provided insights into the diverse range of services that the hospital offers to the public.

Dr. Tunde Bakare, Managing Director of the hospital, played a pivotal role in the proceedings. He led the NOUN team to the bustling Eye Clinic Waiting Area, where a substantial gathering of over 100 medical and non-medical staff members eagerly listened to the advocacy messages delivered by Dr. Eyanuku.

Addressing the audience at the sensitization program, Dr. Eyanuku highlighted the myriad advantages of enrolling in NOUN. Notably, he emphasized the significance of acquiring the NOUN NYSC Exclusion Certificate, which holds equal prestige to the NYSC/Exemption certificates issued by the same authority. He urged the hospital staff to take full advantage of NOUN's Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs, now conveniently available at their doorstep. Moreover, he emphasized the global recognition and acceptance of NOUN's certificates, both on national and international levels.

Dr. Bakare, in his turn, conveyed the essence of the advocacy team's message to his hospital personnel, underscoring the potential for career growth through NOUN's educational offerings. He encouraged his staff to seize the opportunity to enhance their professional prospects by participating in NOUN programs.

As part of the awareness campaign, informational flyers were distributed, and visual documentation captured the engagement between the NOUN team and the hospital staff.

The event culminated with a commemorative photo session, where the NOUN team posed alongside Dr. Bakare and various hospital officers. This collaboration between Badagry General Hospital and NOUN stands as a significant step toward fostering educational advancement and career excellence within the medical community.
