NOUN Online Facilitation Guide Part 2

Welcome, my fellow students, to a discussion about a crucial aspect of our learning journey: online facilitation. I'm here to guide you through this process step by step, so grab a comfortable seat and let's dive in.

We all have different ways of learning, and sometimes, being totally independent in our studies might be a bit challenging. At times, we might encounter difficulties in our courses and could use a helping hand to clear things up. That's where facilitation comes into play.

You see, our university, the National Open University (NOUN), is a diverse and dynamic place. The beauty of this diversity also means that it's not always feasible for all of us to physically attend lectures together. This challenge sparked the creation of online facilitation methods, which make it possible for us to connect with our instructors and fellow students even when we're not in the same physical space. Think of it as an "online class."

Now, to bring this online class to life, NOUN uses a platform called Zoom. To get started, you'll need to have Zoom installed on your devices, whether it's a computer or a mobile device.

So, how can you join these online classes? Let me break it down for you. At the start of each semester, the university puts together a list of courses that will be conducted online. It's essential to understand that not all courses will be available through this facilitation. Once this list is finalized, it's uploaded onto the Facilitation Timetable site, where updates are continually made. You can access this timetable through the following link:( facilitation-timetable). Remember, you need to choose the ongoing semester from the Semester Menu. Afterward, click on the 'Apply' button to display the semester calendar."

Once you're there, take a look and note the days and times of your courses. Now, what's the next step? When the day of your online facilitation arrives, you'll receive a notification in your school email. Yes, I'm talking about the one that starts with "NOU," followed by your matriculation number, and ending with "@noun.edu.ng." Remember, this email address is automatically generated once you're assigned your matric number. So, keep your email active and check it regularly.

Now, let's move forward. You can either refer to the Facilitation Timetable you drafted or keep an eye on your school email for class notifications.

When the facilitation day arrives, here's what you need to do: log into your eLearn portal using this link:( eLearn Portal ). If you're a new student, don't worry if logging in seems a bit tricky at first. Just remember, if you've completed all your registrations, you're on the right track. Use your matriculation number as your password, with "nou" in all lowercase. For example, if your matric number is NOU123456789, your password would be "nou123456789."

When you log in, you might not see anything on your dashboard. This could be because the management is still updating the portal for the current semester. Just keep checking for any changes.

Once you successfully log in, you can find guidance on how to join the facilitation using various devices through this link: ( Joining the Online Facilitation with your Devices)
