The Mock Accreditation Team of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has visited the Abeokuta Study Centre in preparation for the forthcoming National Universities Commission’s (NUC) main exercise.
The team, led by its Chairman, Prof. Emeritus Godwin Sogolo, comprised of Prof. Emeritus Julius Okojie (OON), Prof. Olufemi Otubanjo, Prof. Emmanuel Oyedipe, Prof. Godwin Ogbadu and Mr. Alhandu Bala Gimba Usman (PAR), was at the centre to asses its readiness and preparedness so as to make the necessary adjustments in meeting up with the actual NUC accreditation exercise.
They were received by the director of the centre, Dr. Oba-Adenuga Olusegun Adeleke, and the staff members, who later took the visitors to a tour of the centre, showing them their offices.
The chairman, in his statement, said the importance of the accreditation cannot be overemphasised, as such the centre needs improvement to meet up with the expectations of the regulating body.
At the end of the tour, which saw them checked offices of the counsellors, library, and store rooms, all in a well-arranged manner, they expressed satisfaction with what they saw.
They also extended their appreciation to the entire staff of the centre, urging them to keep the tempo by seeing better results on the recommendations they assigned to the centre.
On his part, the director appreciated the visit and the tremendous input of the team as well as the university’s unflinching support.
