In an effort to achieve higher enrollment rate at the centre, the Director, Wuse II Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja, Prof. Samson Babatunde Osoba has led a team to a series of advocacy activities to organisations and markets within its environs.

The team visited Banex Plaza and Wuse Market both of which are located within the Abuja Municipal Area in the Federal Capital Territory.

Osoba and his team were at the Banex Plaza to woo the large number of the traders to take advantage of the flexibility offered by NOUN and to further their carriers by enrolling into the university.

He disclosed to the audience the benefits of enrolling into NOUN, the vision, the credibility of the university, and the advantages it has over conventional institutions.

The director explained that the university has a mandate of taking education to the doorsteps of Nigerians and organisations, even as he assured them that NOUN is a Federal Government-approved institution.

NOUN, he said, is at par with other universities in the country, adding that all its programmes are also fully and dully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) as they are taught on full-time basis.

Osoba informed them about the upcoming vocational short-courses training in computer and childcare, which the university is embarking on.

On the sidelines, the team has had an interactive session with the management of the plaza, and explained the criteria for securing admission into the university.

Responding, the management of the plaza thanked the team for finding them worthy of hosting such an important event of the biggest university in the country.

They used the opportunity to invite the centre to their monthly management and occupants’ interactive session where further orientation would be given to those who could not meet up with the visit.
