The immediate-past overseer of the Dawakin Kudu, Gabasawa, and Kwachiri Community Study Centres in Kano, Dr. Al'Hassan Ali Ibrahim, has officially taken over as the new Director of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Dutse Study Centre in Jigawa State. This transition follows a recent staff redeployment by the University Management, which also saw Dr. Ahmad Mahmood Tanimu, the outgoing Director, reassigned to the Dawakin Kudu Community Study Centre.

In a brief statement to NOUN News shortly after the handover ceremony in Dutse, Dr. Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the University Management for the confidence shown in him and the opportunity to lead the centre. He emphasized his commitment to advancing the university's goals and objectives under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Professor Uduma Oji Uduma.

Dr. Ibrahim highlighted increased student enrolment as one of his primary goals, stressing the importance of implementing effective strategies to inform the public about NOUN's programmes, operational methods, and the advantages of open and distance learning.

He urged staff members to collaborate and support each other in achieving the university's objectives and enhancing the centre's operations. Dr. Ibrahim underscored the significance of dedication and commitment to duty, noting that all staff share a responsibility in contributing to the university's growth and development.

Additionally, he acknowledged the experience of the outgoing Director, expressing his willingness to seek guidance from Dr. Tanimu when necessary.

In his remarks, Dr. Tanimu thanked the University Management for the opportunity to serve as Director of the Dutse Study Centre and for entrusting him with a new role at the Dawakin Kudu Community Study Centre. He committed to continuing his efforts for the advancement of the university in his new capacity and encouraged the staff of the Dutse Study Centre to extend their full cooperation and support to Dr. Ibrahim, emphasizing that their collective efforts would be vital for the success of both the centre and the university.
