The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), through its Directorate of Procurement, has successfully conducted the financial bid opening for the 2026 Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Special Intervention Projects at the university headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

The exercise brought together representatives of TETFund, contractors, consultants, the NGO team, and relevant university officials as part of the procurement process for these intervention projects.

In her welcome remarks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Technology, Innovation and Research (TIR), Professor Christine Ofulue, expressed her gratitude to all participants and acknowledged the presence of Mr. Shehu Abdulrahman, the representative of the TETFund Executive Secretary, along with contractors, consultants, the NGO team, and other stakeholders.

The Director of Procurement, Mrs. Dinah Abbas, explained that the financial bid opening constituted the second stage of the procurement process. She noted that the submitted financial bids would be evaluated before being forwarded to the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) for review and approval, in accordance with applicable public procurement procedures.

Subsequently, the DVC led university officials and other participants in opening the bid box, formally unveiling the financial submissions from the participating contractors.

During the exercise, financial bids from five companies were announced: Khajid Integrated Services, Lamela Civil Works Engineering, Wind Land Engineering, X-per Logic Engineering, and Yar Adida Global Investment.

The bids will now undergo the necessary evaluation and approval processes, with the successful contractor to be determined based on the outcome of this evaluation and subsequent approval by the BPP.

Mr. Shehu Abdulrahman, the TETFund representative, commended the process, describing it as transparent. The university's Director of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), Mrs. Folake Adeniran, and the Director of SERVICOM, Ms. Tayo Olowola, also praised the conduct of the bid opening after observing the proceedings.

Olowola affirmed that the process had been duly conducted, highlighting the importance of transparency and compliance with established procedures in public procurement.

In her closing remarks, Professor Ofulue expressed appreciation to the NGO team, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders for their contributions and support toward the successful conduct of the exercise.

The financial bid opening represents a crucial stage in the procurement process for the implementation of the 2026 TETFund Special Intervention Projects at NOUN.
